Student project for Electronic Music class with Gordon Mumma and Peter Elsea at UC Santa Cruz electronic music studios.
Presents a scenario where a simple song expressing my love for talking on the telephone is interrupted by a ringing telephone. The song is a simple I-IV-V-I progression, but as the phone rings on the unresolved dominant chord (the V), I find myself trapped in an unresolved nightmare state until the longed for cadence occurs.
The key is A major.
Sound sources include the Synton 3000, DX7, field recording, voice, and other sounds.
lyrics
Oh I love to talk on the telephone
I've all my friends at the push of a button
Oh I love to talk on the telephone
It's lots and lots of fun!
